Cured

All DFC Brake Pads are 100% post cured to ensure stable friction performance. Each pad is then scorched to remove uncured bonding agents to minimize the need for initial break-in period and increase stopping power from the initial stop.

Wheel Cleanliness

Wheel Cleanliness: Measures degree to which pads keep wheels looking clean and addresses customers need to have dust free wheels.
10 = Wheels are spotless.
1 = Wheels are unreasonably dusty.
Ease Of Hand Washing

Ease of Hand Washing: Measures ease of which stains / dirt from disc pads can be removed by normal washing methods, addresses brake installer concerns about removing residue brake dust from hands.
10 = Stains wash off easily.
1 = Almost impossible to wash hands clean.
Brake Noise

Brake Noise: Measures degree to which pads cause brake noise - addresses customer’s need for quiet braking.
10 = Brakes are noiseless.
1 = Brakes are unreasonably noisy.
Rotor Life

Rotor Life: Measures expected life of rotors prior to replacement - addresses customers need for reasonable rotor life.
10 = Longer life than any person would keep vehicle.
1 = Excessive immediate wear.
Pad Life

Pad Life: Measures expected life of pads prior to replacement - addresses customers need for reasonable pad life.
10 = More than 100,000 km.
1 = Less than 5,000 km.
Operating Friction Level

Operating Friction Level (Long Term Pedal Feel): Measures typical friction level for bulk of working life of pad, addresses customers need for good pedal feel.
10 = High performance (feels great).
1 = Low performance (too much effort).
Green Friction Level

Green Friction Level (Initial Pedal Feel): Measures initial friction level of pads when first installed on vehicle - addresses customers need for good pedal feel.
10 = High performance (feels great).
1 = Poor performance (to much effort).
Cold µ Reduction

Cold Reduction (Effectiveness): Measures variation in friction level from the Operating Friction Level when pads are cold - addresses customers need for pedal feel to be consistent.
10 = Exactly same as Operating Friction Level.
1 = Will not stop when cold.
High Speed µ Reduction

High Speed Reduction (Stopping): Measures variation in friction level from the Operating Friction Level when stopping at high speeds - addresses customers need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Exactly same as Operating Friction Level.
1 = Measurably lower.
Rotor Scoring

Rotor Scoring: Measures degree to which pads wear grooves and ridges on rotor surface - addresses customers need for even rotor wear.
10 = Mirror, even like finish.
1 = Very rough, badly scored finish.
Fade

Fade (Repeated Stops): Measures decrease in friction over repeated heavy-duty stops as temperature increases - addresses customers need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Friction does not change at all.
1 = Friction decreases to dangerously low level.
In Stop Fade

In Stop Fade (Single Stop): Measures decrease in friction during a single stop - addresses customers need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Friction does not change at all.
1 = Friction decreases to dangerously low level.
