DFC Euro 5000 Ceramic Brake Pads

DFC’s 5000 Advanced Brake Pads are a direct OEM replacement for many European applications, but we noticed an opportunity to improve upon the OEM design. The issue with European applications is that the OEM brake pads tend to leave the wheels incredibly dusty. However, DFC’s innovative design helps to reduce the amount of brake dust that is produced, keeping your wheels looking clean and new. That’s why we created the DFC Euro 5000 Ceramic Brake Pads, your go to option for European applications.

We put the DFC Ultimate Duty Performance Pads up against the OEM Pads in 10 panic stops from 60 to zero. We were looking for a couple important indicators: stopping distance and brake fade. As you can see from the video, the Ultimate Duty Performance Brake Pads out performed OEM in both stopping distance and brake fade resistance.

Friction Friday: Dino Tests DFC Brake Pads on a 1973 Alfa Romeo GTA

DFC Friction Friday

Dino Crescentini puts our DFC 5000 Advanced brake pads to the test on this ultra rare Alfa Romeo.

In 1973 the Alfa Romeo GTA was a break through performance vehicle for its time, and came with high performance brake pads. What’s unique to DFC, is that we take the same high quality performance formulations of the OEM and are able to provide the same performance to the braking system as you’d experience in the summer of 1973 driving down the Italian Riviera!

DFC has applied it’s years of experience in the OE and Aftermarket industry to develop a line of brake pads that meet or exceed the expectations of even the most demanding drivers. From our entry level formulations, to our top end track ready compounds, we have a brake pad for every application.

When it comes to safety and performance, there is no substitute for quality. That’s why at DFC, we only use the highest quality materials and processes in our brake pads.

DFC Presents: Dino Puts the Ultimate Duty Performance Pads to the Test

Those with lifted trucks, trucks with large tires (35’s or 38’s), or off-road vehicles will understand: you sometimes lose performance and sensitivity because there is added pressure on the braking system.

DFC Ultimate Duty Performance Brake Pads solve this challenge in a number of ways:

• They provide high performance braking at low speeds (like when you’re rock crawling)

• They have a high coefficient of friction from dead cold, all the way to the highest of temperatures

• They provide better brake balance and feel

These are only a few of the reasons that make the Ultimate Duty Performance Brake Pads a baaaaaad MOFO (Maximum Operating Friction for Off-Roading). Click the video above to see how these Pads perform on a Jeep Gladiator!

DFC 5000 Brake Pads Provide Top Performance to the GMC 2500

After testing hundreds of brake pad materials and evaluating detailed test results (including different outputs under different conditions, different pressures and speeds, and fluid displacement) DFC designed the 5000 Brake Pad Series.

The DFC 5000 Brake Pad Series is a vehicle-specific, application-specific, friction program developed to work perfectly as a direct replacement for your vehicle. That’s why each pad is specially formulated, taking into account the coefficient of friction and compressibility (which gives you brake feel), and engineered to have no noise and extended wear.

So how do these pads perform on the race track? Click the video above and watch Co-Founder Dino Crescentini take over the Spring Mountain Raceway in his Carrera GT- stocked with DFC Active Performance Brake Pads.

Dino’s GT has been modified to carry a cast-iron brake system, and boasts 610 HP with a maximum speed of 200 MPH. According to Porsche, “The Carrera GT is a car that pushed technological boundaries beyond any supercar of that time. Its beautiful profile encompassed a staggeringly powerful 612PS V10 engine that was a direct descendant of the 10-cylinder race engine developed for the Le Mans 24-hours of 2000.”

“It’s the kind of car that will deliver the goods all day, every day, for the rest of its lifetime without hiccup or complaint”

Join Co-Founder Dino Crescentini as he cruises and bruises the streets of Los Angeles in his 1973 Alfa RomeoWhere did Dino find this rare car? And why an Alfa Romeo?

Click the video below to find out

We recently caught up with Dino and asked him about his 1973 Alfa Romeo.

“The model is actually a 1300 GTA Junior.  It is an aluminum-body version of the standard steel-body GTV.  They only produced about 500 units of the GTA in order to meet homologation requirements for racing regulations.”

What fueled your passion for this type of car?

When I was a kid, my Dad had a trust-funder mechanic working for him that had a GTA that he raced that he would actually drive to work from time to time.  My Dad usually worked late, so when I was at the shop after school, he would have Charlie take me home.

Charlie was in his 20’s and bit of a nut.  When ever he had the GTA, he would take me home via the infamous Mulholland Drive, which was basically a 6 mile-long race track.  Those rides home in the GTA were the most thrilling rides that anyone could ever experience, especially for a 10 year old kid.  That is when I fell in love with the GTA.

It was also at this point of my life that I learned to keep my cool.  You can imagine how I would react when my Dad asked if it was OK if Charlie could take me home!  He had no idea, and it remained a secret for years.

Where did you find this rare car?

I found this particular car in Italy at a car show back in 2015, though I have had several of them in the past. I raced a GTA back in the early 1980’s.

What type of work have you done on it?

Being that the car was homologated for the 1300 class, the engine, though very high performance for a 1300cc engine, isn’t really that fast.

I built a vintage-specification 2000cc engine that was used in the Alfa race cars back in the early 70’s. It really hauls ass now!

Any fun facts about this car?

Being that these cars were homologated for racing, almost all of them were all hacked up and converted to race cars immediately upon delivery. What is really cool about this car is that it was never raced and kept in its road-going “stradale” (street) condition. As a result, it is very rare.

There are perhaps 50 or 60 of these cars in the world in this condition. The GTA is worth about $300K.
